Since my manuscript is MG, I automatically assumed it didn’t qualify for high-concept. I don’t qualify as high-concept. After reading this, I discovered one of those statements is wrong. The manuscript is high-concept (by most traits); I’m still not. I do feel a little more hoity-toity right now, but I’ll get over it. Thank you. The term no longer scares me into thinking I need to be something I’m not. It’s simply a case of throwing something hardly ever done on its ear to write the story I couldn’t find at the library. Finally! This “I’m too old to write for today’s kids” is working into something unexpected.
