The research goal of Computer Graphics Lab is to develop software and tools for animation and various graphics applications. To achieve the goal, we are currently focusing on 3D mesh processing, object metamorphosis, and non-photorealistic rendering (NPR). In 3D mesh processing, we develop techniques to provide an animation system with features to effectively handle large polygonal meshes. Object metamorphosis generates an animation in which an object is smoothly transformed into another. NPR targets on creating expressive, artistic, painterly, and interpretative images of objects rather than images similar to real photographs. As industrial applications of our expertise, we are currently working on 3D Studio Max and Maya plug-ins and mobile graphics software.
