Children look to their parents for comfort, strength, support, and stability. When parents of children of any age make the decision to get divorced then there becomes the question of what is forever, and what will become wavering. While there are many people who go through divorce these days, there are also many children who suffer from the impacts of divorce on their mind and emotions. One of the most common impacts of divorce on children is the element of the child feeling like it is his or her fault. No matter how many times parents try to explain what is happening and why it is happening, many children tend to take accountability for the divorce internally. The child fears that it is because he or she misbehaved, or because he or she was “bad” at one point or another. This is because of the fact that most often when raising children, parents tend to try to correlate bad behavior with consequences. Therefore, when there are consequences, the child correlates the perceived punishment with bad behavior. Divorce is a confusing and challenging event for everyone involved. When parents get divorced, the child starts to feel unsure about elements of his or her life that he or she had never questioned before. Furthermore, the child will typically begin to act out in violent or negative behaviors in an effort to process the feelings of sadness, anger, and disappointment.

Writing had always been one of my strengths, but it was challenging to take that initial step past the high school, five-paragraph essay form that constricted my ideas for so long. Moving past this form, however, has greatly opened my mind. My thoughts are now able to be more complex because I have learned how to sustain a logical argument in an organized manner. My writing has become increasingly more concise and I no longer have room for added "fluff" or "padding." Another improvement is my ability to point out multiple complexities within a text, instead of sticking to one-sided arguments in my papers. Furthermore, learning how to find peer reviewed journal articles and order books through interlibrary loan has significantly widened the scope of my research, which has lead to more scholarly papers with credible references. My writing is so much more interesting than it used to be.

Writing an argumentative essay can be made easier if you chose to write on a topic that everyone is talking about. Choosing a question that everyone has agreed on the answer to is not a good idea and, therefore, not advisable by many experts. Pick an audience that disagrees with you in order for you not to be “giving a sermon to the choir”. However, it is helpful if the subject is somethingon which everyone has their own point of view. This enables to easily findthe examples to back up your essay, either from the composition or from individuals you had a discussion with. Then you should endeavour to pick a suitable argumentative essay format. Lastly, make sure to carefully choose a topic that is compelling to you and that fascinates you. Avoid choosing a topic that has been used on many occasions, for example, abortion, death penalty, or crime and punishment. One thing is for sure, your teacher must have read lots of these essays and possibly have gotten tired of the subject. Also, you may think that these topics are easy, but in reality, they are not. This is because there are many individuals familiar with argumentative essay examples and it becomes very difficult to think of a way to change their way of thinking. When writing an argumentative essay introduction, make sure it’s catchy, creative and original.
